I've started and abandoned a personal site maybe six times. Every version died the same way: I'd spend a weekend picking a framework, another weekend fighting it, and by the third weekend the whole thing felt like homework. So it never shipped.
This one is different, mostly because I stopped trying to make it impressive and
started trying to make it mine. The centerpiece is a fake terminal — type help
and poke around. It does nothing useful and I love it. There's a virtual filesystem
in there, a pile of commands, and a few things it won't admit to until you go
looking.
That's the whole spirit of this place: a small, personal, slightly-useless corner of the web that exists because I wanted it to, not because it optimizes for anything.
If you're reading this, you found it. That already means more than any analytics
dashboard could. Stay a while — the links page is where I keep the good stuff.
